The voltage stabiliser, what is it's main use or why does a vehicle have one.
could this cause problems with the oil light, as mine keeps flashing, but pressure seems okay

Vehicle is VW transporter, 1987, 1900cc petrol

    Thanks

you mean Voltage regulator? The one for the alternator...
This maintains a constant voltage released from your alt. to your car.
You can check the voltage to see if your regulator is bad. it should be somewhere between 12-14 volts and not fluctuate alot.
I don't know if this would cause that problem..not enough info.
    Your pressure gauge reads ok?
